The Volcker Alliance advances effective management of government to achieve results thatmatter to citizens. To support this mission, the Alliance partners with others to help builda highly capable public service that is ready and able to carry out public policies at all levelsof government.This study, Preparing Tomorrow’s Public Service, is a contribution to a far-rangingconversation about developing and retaining top talent in government service as the sectorbecomes increasingly complex and challenging. In the Alliance’s ongoing collaborations withuniversities, government agencies, professional associations, and civil society organizations,discussions continually turn to supporting the needs of rising government leaders who operate amid that complexity.
