Steeve Auguste

Steeve Auguste was working as a Haitian Creole and French interpreter when he decided to pursue a new career in IT — despite not having a college degree. After enrolling in a Per Scholas tech bootcamp, Steeve gained hands-on training and essential career development skills. Still, breaking into the field was tough. Rejections piled up until a webinar from Opportunity@Work led him to Stellarworx, where he received targeted job support and coaching.

Encouraged to apply for a role with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Steeve landed an interview — and a job — as a Service Desk Analyst, supporting public safety agencies like the State Police. Now working in a mission-critical role, Steeve’s journey shows the impact of investing in STARs (Skilled Through Alternative Routes). With the right support and opportunity, he didn’t just switch careers — he found a path forward. Steeve’s story proves that talent is everywhere, even if opportunity is not.
