About the role

As the CTO, you will develop the vision, architect the strategy, and lead the development of a cloud-based multi-sided labor platform designed to enable skills-based, inclusive hiring that reaches millions of Americans. The TechHire network of community based organizations, employers, training providers and civic leaders is demonstrating on the ground what an inclusive labor market can look like. A tech-enabled platform, with participation from employers, education providers, and individual job seekers, will enable our impact to scale to reach millions of individuals. Opportunity@Work is strongly positioned to be the catalyst channeling this desire for action into a scalable, tech-enabled solution.

Reporting directly to the CEO and Co-Founder, you will have a broad mandate to define the role of technology in our strategy, architect our vision of a multi-sided platform and marketplace, develop and grow our product and engineering team and leverage national partnerships to radically accelerate our progress towards our ambitious impact goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the technical strategic vision for the organization
  • Make infrastructure decisions ensuring technical excellence, versatility and scalability of our engineering/architecting product solutions and managing delivery.
  • Recruit, grow, nurture, and retain our engineering, product, UX design, and product design teams.
  • Define interfaces with a diverse array of relevant tools and stakeholders (e.g., job boards used by job seekers, applicant tracking systems used by employers), make build versus partner versus buy decision, and work with 3rd party R&D and development companies to execute product vision and roadmaps.
  • Enhance existing products and drive new product development.
  • Constructively critique, refine and improve the strategic direction of the company.
  • Participate as a key decision-maker in all aspects of the business.

You have a track record of demonstrating excellence across the following functions and skills:

  • Strategic smarts, including the ability to identify new opportunities, drive clarity, create focus, and make tough decisions in complex and dynamic contexts.
  • Experience architecting, deploying, and scaling software (multi-sided platforms preferred).
  • Managing, growing and leading product, engineering, and design teams in high-growth environments, both in effectively bringing new products to market and driving it to scale.
  • Know how to deliver software quickly in a startup environment that can be tested and leveraged for scale.
  • Understanding of user-driven design demonstrated through past work on products users love.
  • Strong communication with ability to navigate and influence cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Ability to align technology and product objectives and programs with the organization's overall vision, strategies, and objectives.
  • At some point in your career you were a full stack, backend or frontend developer with a passion for good design and excellent user experiences.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced developer who will work with our small in-house product and engineering team to realize a vision of this multi-sided labor marketplace designed to enable skills-based, inclusive hiring that reaches millions of Americans. You will also provide technical leadership and direction to the organization while mentoring and building out the engineering team.

You will:

  • Take on a leadership role in the organization and work with the executive team to identify opportunities and needs in technology and development capacity.

  • Collaborate with technical and nontechnical teammates across Opportunity@Work, providing technical feedback and mentorship around best practices

  • Inform technical trade-offs and possible product paths for development strategy

  • Mentor and guide junior members of the development team

About the Role:

The Customer Success team at Opportunity@Work is responsible for the customer journey and success for employers , job seekers, training providers and volunteers as they use Opportunity@Work solutions for skills-based hiring. About the Role:

You will be on the ground floor of establishing a data system and building logic and business rules for data integration of Opportunity@Work’s business units and users/customers. You will be responsible for the ongoing support of data development as it relates to data requirements, data analysis, data testing, extract development and overall support of data integration, quality processes and automation initiatives for reporting data.  As part of supporting a small and growing team and company, you will aim to find meaning in the data we have, plus go out and get the data we don’t.
 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Set up a data system from the ground up, establishing business rules, use, and maintenance processes.
  • Execute data migrations and a data quality program focused on completeness, standardization, and deduplication
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and processes to continuously monitor data quality, integrity, validity and reliability

Opportunity@Work’s first initiative, TechHire, is in 72 communities nationwide with TechHire Rhode Island (RI) serving as the national learning lab. Last fall TechHire RI became a RealJobs RI partner with the RI Department of Labor and training for expanding access to careers in tech. This role supports our Employer Solutions team in Rhode Island, recruiting companies across southern New England to hire overlooked tech talent in this inclusive hiring marketplace.

About the Role:

We are looking for a self-motivated, entry-level associate who can own outbound prospecting in an assigned geography to generate new leads, effectively follow up with prospects, and produce qualified leads for Account Managers. Key responsibilities for this role include:
 

Employer Prospecting

  • Identifying and researching potential New England employers who would be good candidates for TechHire Rhode Island partnerships.
  • Sourcing potential partners contacts by corresponding with Rhode Island community partners and sales prospecting tools.

About the Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven User Engagement Associate who will often be the first point of contact with potential https://techhire.careers customers and will set the tone for the job seeker experience.  The User Acquisition Associate will be outbound prospecting in Rhode Island and supporting the Community Engagement Manager to generate new leads, effectively follow up with leads, convert leads to users, and hand off job seeker relationships to the Customer Success team. This is a three month contract position, with the possibility of renewal at the end of three months. The salary for this position is $25 per hour, 40 hours a week.

Primary responsibilities include the following:

Strategic Vision:

Solutions and Innovation Development and Support:

  • Represent voice of current and potential financial partners in working with O@W team to design and implement innovative financing mechanisms that allow low income and underrepresented talent to acquire skills and get placed into middle-class, career-path jobs.

The Talent Financing team at Opportunity@Work is responsible for the design, operationalization, and evolution of the financing solution that is aimed at making training financially accessible for low-income Americans. As a key member, the Senior Financial Analyst will be instrumental in performing due diligence of training outcomes and developing the financial models needed to drive our strategic decision-making. Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as the social platform subject matter expert, understanding trends and working with teams to implement an effective social media strategy for thought leadership and marketing goals for parent and sub brand accounts.
  • Develop and implement a social media and digital marketing plan, to support Communications and organizational goals
  • Work with key partners to develop an online content calendar that aligns with and supports Communications goals
  • Build brand awareness and online reputation through digital and social media campaigns, managing online reputation, customer response and crisis management across the social media ecosystem
