Improve Access
to Work Support Programs
With employers doing their part to educate their
low-wage employees, helping them to access benefits
that they are eligible for, employers will receive,
in return, a healthier, more stable and more
productive workforce. Employers can help their
employees increase their monthly take-home pay
at no cost by giving eligible employees part
of the EITC that they earn with their paycheck.
Employees who properly fill out their W4 and
W5 can be eligible to receive between $50 and
$200 per paycheck. Then, the employer may subtract
the advanced EITC payments made to the employee
from payroll taxes. Businesses can help their
employees take advantage of the EITC, as well
as other important work support programs, by
offering information sessions on W4 and W5 forms,
as well as food stamps, child care subsidies,
and Kids Connection, Nebraska's children's health
insurance program.
