Duncan Spencer, Software developer

Duncan is a Software Developer at Opportunity@Work working on the product team.

Previously, Duncan worked as a Senior Software Engineer at VaxTrac, a global health technology nonprofit.  There he helped develop their Android application and vaccination platform used by frontline health workers in Benin, Nepal, and Sierra Leone.  Duncan worked with a variety of local governments and partners such as the Gates Foundation, UNICEF, WHO, and the CDC.

Duncan is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, having served as a Computer Engineering Lecturer at The Gambia Technical Training Institute in the capital city of Banjul.  At the school, Duncan taught courses in Java Programming and Website Design to diploma students and other faculty.

After graduating from university, Duncan worked as a Research Programmer at Carnegie Mellon University, on the LearnLab DataShop team.  DataShop is the leading repository and analysis platform for researchers to collaborate on educational learning datasets.

Duncan grew up in New Kensington, Pennsylvania and has a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
