TAX PREPERATION
HELP for the COMMUNITY
As you know, tax season is an important time
for many Nebraskans but unfortunately is often
accompanied by stress, worry, and a lot of questions.
The good news is there are places that can help
alleviate the frustrations of tax preparation.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs
and sites are available across the state of
Nebraska. VITA sites provide free tax assistance
to low- and moderate-income workers as well
as disabled, elderly, limited or non-English
speaking persons.
Volunteers at VITA sites have been trained
to help you (or people you know) with tax credits
such as the federal and state Earned Income
Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit, and Credit
for the Elderly - for which many Nebraskans
qualify.
Please read the following information for locations
of VITA sites across Nebraska or for information
on how you can contribute your time and expertise
by volunteering at a site in your community.
