TAX PREPERATION HELP
for the COMMUNITY
As you know, tax season is an important time
for many Nebraskans but unfortunately is often
accompanied by stress, worry, and a lot of questions.
The good news is there are places that can help
alleviate the frustrations of tax preparation.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs
and sites are available across the state of
Nebraska. VITA sites provide free tax assistance
to low- and moderate-income workers as well
as disabled, elderly, limited or non-English
speaking persons.

Empty Bowls Luncheon
May 27, 2008
11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Our Empty Bowls Luncheon is the Food Bank's
annual signature event. Embassy Suites of Lincoln
hosts this luncheon, that is made possible by
the generosity of Kathleen Grossman, of Down
Under Pottery. We invite a dozen of Lincoln's
finest restaurants to provide soup, breads,
and desserts. Everyone who attends receives
a hand-crafted bowl of their choice. Tickets
for the Empty Bowls Luncheon are $25 and are
available at the Food Bank, or from Food Bank
Board members or you can purchase tickets on
the website. The Luncheon is designed to raise
funds for the Food Bank, and to call attention
to National Hunger Awareness Day.
