OPPORTUNITY@WORK PRESIDENT AND CO-FOUNDER BYRON AUGUSTE TO KEYNOTE THE NATIONAL INITIATIVE FOR CYBERSECURITY EDUCATION (NICE) 2016 CONFERENCE AND EXPO
Washington D.C. (October 27, 2016) – Opportunity@Work President & Co-Founder Byron Auguste will provide the keynote address for the NICE 2016 Conference and Expo being held in Kansas City, MO on Tuesday, November 1st 2016. This event is supported by the National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education (NICE), a program of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the U.S. Department of Commerce, under a Cooperative Agreement. The 2016 NICE Conference and Expo will feature thought leaders from education, government, industry and non-profits who are addressing the cybersecurity education, training, and workforce needs of the nation.
In his remarks, “ReWiring the Labor Market to Drive Innovation in Cybersecurity”, Byron Auguste will address how we can ensure that motivated Americans will get the skills they need to find meaningful work, to thrive in the workplace, and to move forward in the job market. He will speak to the need to build a flexible, dynamic, and common "operating system" for the labor market that employers, educators, workers, and job seekers can plug into as a tool to better align their own investments with each other's priorities, recognize potential, and respond to market needs. If this vision is achieved at scale, it would result in higher-value education and training programs; more inclusive and better-matched pools of candidates to hire; and a more engaged and productive workforce.
